Step-by-Step Guide: Adding Trendos RSS Feed to Microsoft Teams

This guide will walk you through how to set up a new Microsoft Teams channel, add an RSS feed to the channel, and invite your colleagues to join. Pair this with Trendos Smart Product Alerts to get competitor intelligence delivered straight to your Teams workspace.
Step 1: Create a New Teams Channel
- Open Microsoft Teams and navigate to the team where you want to add a new channel.
- Click the three dots (···) next to the team name and select Add channel.
- Name your channel (e.g., Competitor Updates).
- Add a Description that explains the purpose of the channel.
- Choose the Privacy settings:
- Standard: Everyone in the team can join.
- Private: Only invited users can access the channel.
- Click Add to create the channel.
Step 2: Add Internal Company Users to the Channel
- Go to the newly created channel.
- Click on the Members tab at the top.
- Click Add member.
- Search for the users or enter their email addresses and click Add to invite them.
Step 3: Add the RSS Feed Connector
- Go to the newly created channel in Microsoft Teams.
- Click on the three dots (···) at the top right of the channel and select Connectors.
- In the search bar, type RSS and select RSS from the results.
- Click Configure to set up the feed.
- Enter the RSS feed URL (e.g., https://example.com/competitor-updates.rss) and choose the update frequency.
- Click Save. Updates from the RSS feed will now appear in the channel.
Step 4: Manage or Remove the RSS Feed (Optional)
- To manage the feed, go to the Connectors settings in the channel and click Manage next to the RSS feed.
- To remove the feed, go to Manage, find the RSS feed, and select Remove.
Your Microsoft Teams channel is now set up with the RSS feed and your team members will begin receiving updates.
